Boeing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia


Boeing is the world’s leading aerospace company and the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined.
Boeing relationship with Saudi Arabia goes back to 1945, when U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt presented a DC-3 airplane to King Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud.
Over 65 years later, this relationship continued to grow, with Boeing continuing to partner with Saudi Arabia in civil aviation, defense and industrial participation. The importance of this relationship was reaffirmed in 1982 when Boeing established Boeing Middle East Limited (BMEL) in Riyadh and when it established Boeing International Support Systems (BISS) in 2006.

Boeing is a pioneer supporter of the economic off-set programs and participated in establishing most of them. One of those is Alsalam Aircraft Company where Boeing is a majority stakeholder.

Today, Boeing works closely with SAGIA to explore different areas of collaboration in the Kingdom in addition to various projects and involvements with different entities in Saudi Arabia, such as King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology (KACST), Technical & Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST).

Additionally, Boeing’s support to the community is part of its longstanding commitment to Saudi Arabia that goes beyond business partnerships and encompasses higher education and community-based initiatives. Boeing a Founding Member of Alfaisal University in Riyadh and contributes to many NGOs in Saudi Arabia with a focus on education and learning.
