Maha Al-Ghunaim is chairperson and managing director of Global Investment House, which she co-founded in 1998.
In 1998, Maha Al- Ghunaim, along with other distinguished members, founded Global Investment House, which eventually became one of the leading financial institutions in the region. Al Ghunaim came to Global from Kuwait Foreign Trading Contracting & Investment Co. (KFTCIC), the investment arm of Kuwait Investment Company, which she had joined in 1982 after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from San Francisco State University, California, USA. Mrs. Al Ghunaim was promoted to chairperson of Global in 2007.
She received notable regional and international recognitions, among them Forbes Magazine’s annual listing of “The 100 Most Powerful Women in the World” for 2006 & 2007 & 2008, the “World’s Most Influential Arabs” and “Contribution to the Financial Industry Award”.

Despite the challenges that Global faced because of the extraordinary economic circumstances in 2008, Mrs. Al -Ghunaim successfully led the company with the same wisdom and foresight she had used to establish Global and grow it into a successful organisation.
