Angel Cabrera is president of Thunderbird School of Global Management, which
is widely recognized as the No. 1 school in the international business field. For
over 60 years Thunderbird has been dedicated to developing leaders with the
global mindset, business skills, entrepreneurial spirit and social responsibility necessary
to create real, sustainable value for their organizations, communities and the world.

Dr. Cabrera is a world-renowned global leader and management educator whose work
and expertise has been recognized and tapped by top international organizations. The
World Economic Forum named Dr. Cabrera a “Global Leader for Tomorrow” in 2002
and chairman of the Global Agenda Council for promoting entrepreneurship in 2008. In
2007, the United Nations asked him to chair the international taskforce that developed
the “Principles for Responsible Management Education,” a voluntary framework to
promote global corporate citizenship subscribed to by more than 200 business schools
worldwide, including Thunderbird. In 2008, he was named a Crown Fellow by the
Aspen Institute.

An outspoken advocate of corporate social responsibility and managerial professionalism,
in 2005 he inspired a student-led initiative that resulted in Thunderbird becoming
the first business school in the world to formally adopt a Professional Oath of Honor, a
commitment to social responsibility and professional ethics taken by all graduating students.
Also in 2005, the school established Thunderbird for Good, a philanthropic effort
to provide business education to entrepreneurs in developing countries. Since then, more
than one hundred women entrepreneurs have been trained in Afghanistan and Jordan and
new programs are under development in Africa and Latin America.

Dr. Cabrera is a frequent speaker at prestigious international forums, and his views
about global leadership, business education and corporate citizenship are often quoted by
the leading media in the world, including the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal,
Business Week, The Economist, Time, CNN, CNBC, El País, Forbes, the International
Herald Tribune, and The New York Times. In 2004, he was showcased by Business
Week as one of 25 “Stars of Europe.”

Dr. Cabrera serves on the boards of the Council for the International Exchange of
Scholars (Fulbright scholars program), the Georgia Institute of Technology, ESSEC
Business School, the Iberoamerican Academy of Management, and the Greater Phoenix
Economic Council. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Forum of
Young Global Leaders, the Greater Phoenix Leadership and the Future Trends Forum
in Madrid. Before Thunderbird, Dr. Cabrera was professor and dean at Madrid’s IE
Business School, one of Europe’s leading business schools.

A native of Spain, Dr. Cabrera earned his Ph.D. and MS from the Georgia Institute of
Technology, which he attended as a Fulbright Scholar, and a BS and MS in Engineering
from Madrid Polytechnical University, Spain’s premier Engineering school. He has
