- 1 February to 30 June 1995: Acting Judge of the High Court of South Africa.

- Permanent Judge of the High Court of South Africa.

- 1995 Acted for a term as a Constitutional Court Judge.

-Was member of the Amnesty Committee of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

- 1998 Acted as Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal, for two terms.

- January 1999: Appointed Judge President of the High Court of South Africa, Transvaal Provincial Division.
