Fares D. Noujaim is executive vice chairman of Global Corporate & Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, he partners with client coverage and other teams across industries and geographic regions to provide ideas, innovative solutions, and superior execution to clients. He is also a member of the Global Corporate & Investment Banking Leadership team.
Additionally, Noujaim serves as global head of Sovereign Wealth Funds, where he is responsible for the delivery of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s fully-integrated services to sovereign wealth clients across all businesses and regions globally.
Previously he was president of Merrill Lynch Middle East & North Africa. In this role, he oversaw the businesses and support areas in the Middle East & North Africa, partnering closely with the heads of sales and trading, origination, principal investments and wealth management to develop strategies for overall growth and allocation of resources to support the businesses in this region.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, he was vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. and was a member of Bear Stearns’ President’s Advisory Committee, having previously served as the committee’s chairman. With Bear Stearns, he led a team to provide capital markets and strategic advisory services to some of the firm’s key domestic and international investment banking clients, which included a broad range of global corporate enterprises and sovereign governments. Over the course of his career, Noujaim has advised on M&A transactions valued over $300 billion and has facilitated financings totaling in excess of $1 trillion. He was global head of the firm’s Capital Markets Group from 1992 to 1997. Noujaim began his career with Goldman Sachs in 1985.
He has served on the Board of International College as well as The National Council of Economic Education. He is married with three children and resides in Darien, CT.
