Mr. A. Al Tamami had joined Etihad Etisalat (MOBILY), Saudi Arabia in May 2005, as Chief Operations Officer, where he is responsible for leveraging both the Telecom and the IT Technologies to implement the Mobily strategies toward enriching and enhancing customers’ experience. Before that, he co-founded iNet and joined iNet at the beginning of 2004, as MD and President. iNet was established in 2001 as a Saudi company focusing on Networking Solutions and Managed Services and had participated in the licensing competition for the Saudi Data Communication Services

 

In 1998, Mr. Al Tamami had started as the Senior VP, and thereafter became President of Gulf Stars Technology, a leading and largest Saudi company by then, specializing in the Networking Solutions and related Services. During the period of 2002-2003, Mr. Al Tamami had initiated and actively participated in the management of the merger of Gulf Stars Technology with the Al Faisaliah Group’s two computer companies, i.e., AES and FAST, leading to the creation of Ebttikar Technology Company where he had successfully performed the role of President till Jan. 2004.


Mr. Al Tamami do possess an extensive experience in the Telecom field spanning more than 18 years. In 1979, he started as an Engineer with the Ministry of PTT (MoPTT), and had progressed into becoming Director General of the Cables Department for 10 years where he led the planning and implementation of the National and Regional Fiber Optic Cable Systems including the Submarine Cable Systems, such as, Sea Me We 1, 2 and 3. The last two years with the MoPTT, he was the General Manager of the IT Department and Technical Adviser to the Deputy Minister for Operation and Maintenance before leaving the Government to join the Private Sector in 1997.

 

Mr. Abdulaziz Tamami had obtained his MS degree in Telecommunications & Computer Science from The George Washington University in 1983, and earlier, BS from the Michigan State University.

 

He is married with five children and living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
