Dr Basmah Mosleh Omair, Executive Director of Sayeda Khadijah Bint Khouwailid Businesswomen/Lobbying Centre at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Dr. Omair restructured the businesswomen center to become the first lobbying center that focuses on the removal of obstacles facing women in order to truly empower them both economically and socially. She was also the first female to be elected as the deputy chair for the Labor committee at the JCCI
A daughter of a Saudi Diplomat to the United States, Dr. Omair was raised and educated in the U.S for more than 23 years. This allowed her a better understanding of both cultures and the ability to take the best of both worlds. She received her BS in Business Administration & Marketing (1993), MS, in Special Education (1997), and her PhD in Education Technology/Management and Leadership(2004) from American University, Washington DC.
Prior to her current post, Dr. Omair was a Consultant for American University in Washington DC and the Global Peace Organization evaluating the education system in Iraq (2003). A Corporate Social Responsibility consultant to the Savola Group (2004-07) Saudi Arabia. Dr. Omair is also a Board member at the Social Economic Circle in Mecca Region, and a member of the Young Arab Leaders, and a spouse member of the Young President Organization (YPO)
