Christian Klingler

Christian Klingler was born in Innsbruck, Austria, in 1968. Having graduated from the University of Innsbruck with a degree in business studies, Christian Klingler became Assistant to the Board of Management at Porsche Inter Auto in Austria from 1992 to 1993, specializing in retail sales.Klingler subsequently held responsibility at Porsche Inter Auto for setting up import and retail networks for the VW and Audi brands in regions such as Slovakia and the USA.
As Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Management of Porsche Holding Österreich, Christian Klingle headed growth projects infrom 1995 and held responsibility for establishing the activities of Porsche Holding Österreich on the French market.
During this period, Klingler was also instrumental in the acquisition of the PGA Group. The PGA Group is headquartered in Paris and is an international sales partner for many different automobile brands in Europe. Christian Klingler became a member of the Board of Management of the PGA Group in 1998, and was appointed its Chairman in 2002. Under Klingler’s leadership, the company became the multi-brand automobile sales group with the highest turnover in Europe. The company with its workforce of 9,000 at 300 locations sells some 210,000 new and used cars a year.
Average annual sales run at 4 billion euros. Klingler was a Member of the Board of Management of Porsche Holding Österreich from 2004 to 2008. In August 2008, Christian Klingler was named General Representative of Volkswagen AG and appointed to the Board of Management of the Volkswagen brand where he is responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales. Klingler joined the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG as the Board Member responsible for Sales on January 1, 2010.
