Steven Gold Senior Partner for Entrepreneurship – Babson College Dr. Gold is an entrepreneur who has founded and served as CEO of several life science and technology ventures. His experience includes designing and launching new enterprises, and developing and commercializing innovative products and services.
Dr. Gold is the inventor of several patented and patent-pending technologies, and the author of Entrepreneur's Notebook: Practical Advice for Starting a New Business Venture. After beginning his undergraduate years as a mechanical engineering student and studying oceanography aboard a research vessel in the North Atlantic, he earned a B.S.E. in Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Gold also has a M.D. from Brown University Medical School, during which time he studied at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. He has also participated in the Program in Negotiation at Harvard Law School. At Babson, Dr. Gold is the Director of Babson's Summer Venture Program, the college's high-level extracurricular entrepreneurship program.
He also teaches a course in intellectual property and life science technology commercialization. At Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, Dr. Gold teaches the introductory entrepreneurship curriculum, the senior entrepreneurship capstone, and a course on intellectual property. He is also Director of Olin College's Foundry student business incubator.
